Jonathan is a principal and senior investment strategist in Vanguard Investment Strategy Group. He joined the company in July 2000, bringing with him more than 18 years of relevant experience.
Previously, Jonathan's role included the evaluation of sovereign risk in developed and emerging markets in Vanguard Fixed Income Group, and he was head of the sovereign research effort at Credit Suisse. He also served for 5 years as director of the National Policy Association, providing public policy forums and publications related to the NAFTA region and for 4 years as a professor at the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies, teaching courses in sovereign risk, public policy, and North American economic and political issues.
Jonathan has written or edited 11 books and many articles on sovereign risk, comparative public policy, and international economics. A native of Montreal, Canada, he earned a B.A. at Clark University and an M.A. and a Ph.D. in political science from the University of Rochester.
